Santa Clara Is a Thriving Community in Silicon Valley

The Silicon Valley  located in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California is globally known as the hub of technology. It is home to many of the top technology companies in the world. Frederick Terman, a former dean and provost at Stanford University, is considered to be the father of the Silicon Valley, which literally grew up around the university. Terman encouraged faculty and students to start their own companies in the area. Fortunately, many followed his advice. Silicon Valley encompasses the entire Santa Clara Valley along with the city of Santa Clara, San Jose and adjacent communities.

The companies in Santa Clara and surrounding communities benefit from a steady stream of people flowing into the area. Intel, Sun Microsystems, Applied Materials, Agilent Technologies and NVIDIA are among the firms headquartered in the Silicon Valley. Late Apple CEO and founder Steve Jobs started a plan to reshape the Silicon Valley landscape. The innovative leader had announced plans to alter Silicon Valley's architecture with a completely redesigned Apple headquarters. Jobs hired noted London-based Norman Foster and his design partners to spearhead the project. Jobs said he wanted to do something about "boring office buildings". Jobs was among the many who believe that the Silicon Valley is far from being done and still has plenty of room to grow and evolve.
